Strategic planning is essential to any successful relocation project but for the size assignments usually orchestrated by The Meehan Consulting Group – in excess of 250,000 square feet – strategic planning becomes absolutely crucial. Understanding the impact of relocations on a business’ normal operations and performance is crucial to the success of any move. Strategically anticipating that impact in every possible manner, and articulating plans that would effectively minimize or eliminate any negative factors, is critical to relocation success.

During the initial interview phase of the process, Dennis Meehan, our CEO, meets with corporate management to ascertain the particular project’s objectives and to determine whether the client might benefit from undertaking an outsourced arrangement with us. The Meehan Group has ongoing, long-term engagements with some of the most prestigious corporations in the U.S., including entities in the financial services, investment banking and publishing industries. Our partnerships with these companies – either on a full-time basis or an on-call format – include our development of relocation policies and implementation procedures firm-wide, staffing by Meehan full-time project managers on a day-to-day basis, and/or furnishing multiple relocation management services on an as-needed basis.

If the assignment entails a single, finite relocation, strategic planning remains a critical component of the process. Having acquired an understanding of the parameters of the project and familiarity with the client’s corporate culture and methodologies, we can design a comprehensive strategy, leverage our vast experience with moving carriers, vendors and other suppliers to provide cost-effective services, and be prepared to circumvent or avoid potential delays or mishaps.
