Mix equal parts of chef extraordinaire, cookbook author,
food stylist, culinary teacher and television cooking-show
host, add a generous measure of humor, a dash of showmanship
and a twist of elegance, combine well and the result? The
quintessential host Chef Annemarie Huste.
After receiving early training in her native Germany, Annemarie
relocated to the United States. Here, prior experience as
cook in private homes secured her a series of posts as personal
chef in several celebrity households. As chef to famed theatrical
showman Billy Rose and, subsequently, personal chef to Mrs.
Jacqueline Kennedy and her children, Chef Annemarie served
four-star meals on a daily basis. During the two years she
spent as Mrs. Kennedys chef, she devised menus and cooked
for a "whos who" of that eras national
statesmen and international rulers and royalty. And although
the former First Lady preferred classic French cuisine, Chef
Annemarie regularly employed her expertise in all styles and
cuisines.
With six cookbooks to her credit, three years as executive
chef to Gourmet Magazine, founder of Annemaries
Cookingschool, food editor of The Saturday Evening Post
and the German edition of Family Circle, host of three
series of major network cooking shows, nationally touring
lecturer/cooking teacher, and owner and executive chef of
her own private dining establishment, Chef Annemaries
culinary knowledge and talents, skills and experience have
combined to yield not only a world-class chef and first-rate
teacher but, when mixed with her exuberant style and zest
for life, a personalité gastronomique extraordinaire!
