Martha’s Wisdom of the Body
Workshop teaches us how to address and
heal the body/mind split. During the process we discover how to
become aware of, listen to, and learn to respect our bodies and
their innate wisdom.
Our bodies store knowledge. Underneath the aches
and pains, frustration and fears, anxiety and depression—produced
by society’s expectations, family pressures and life’s
stresses—our bodies know what is healthy for us.
Using yoga, writing, bodywork and voice work,
Martha teaches participants how to access the original self, the
true self that has been covered, silenced, trapped. This workshop
can have a profound impact on participants, and individuals should
be prepared for a life-altering experience.
Martha will guide you in learning to respect
your body, to become aware of your true feelings, and to attain
body consciousness for strength and health. Aligned with the body’s
desire for strength and health, you will enhance your self-knowledge
and learn to resist unrealistic societal expectations.
Martha uses voice work to access the core, to
uncover what has been repressed and to allow us to release tension
and relieve nagging aches and pains. Writing and drawing allow us
to become aware of the wellspring of our lives, to discover what
is truly important to us, and to resolve traumas into narratives
so that we can continue to grow. We expand our capacity for understanding
our own and others’ lives with respect and compassion.
The result? Freed from old patterns and the
stress of societal expectations, you will be empowered to make conscious,
positive choices of what you genuinely desire—not of what
you want to avoid or overcome—and to identify and claim a
fulfilling, enriching life. Clearly understanding the choices you
make liberates you, enabling you to genuinely change and create
a life of happiness and wellbeing.
